Octagon group publishes synthesis of 1P-LSD
The synthesis of 1P-LSD involves the following steps:
- Obtain the necessary chemicals and equipment, including lysergic acid, propionyl chloride, sodium hydroxide, diethyl ether, ethanol, hydrochloric acid, and a variety of glassware, including round-bottom flasks, reflux condensers, and separating funnels.
- Dissolve lysergic acid in ethanol, and then add propionyl chloride dropwise while stirring vigorously. Heat the mixture under reflux for several hours.
- Allow the mixture to cool, and then add hydrochloric acid to the reaction mixture. Extract the mixture with diethyl ether, and then wash the organic layer with water.
- Combine the organic layers, dry them over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and then filter the solution to remove the magnesium sulfate.
- Evaporate the diethyl ether under reduced pressure to obtain a crude product.
- Dissolve the crude product in hydrochloric acid, and then add sodium hydroxide to adjust the pH to approximately 11.
- Extract the mixture with diethyl ether, and then wash the organic layer with water.
- Combine the organic layers, dry them over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and then filter the solution to remove the magnesium sulfate.
- Evaporate the diethyl ether under reduced pressure to obtain a crude product.
- Dissolve the crude product in a mixture of ethanol and water, and then acidify the solution with hydrochloric acid.
- Extract the mixture with diethyl ether, and then wash the organic layer with water.
- Combine the organic layers, dry them over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and then filter the solution to remove the magnesium sulfate.
- Evaporate the diethyl ether under reduced pressure to obtain 1P-LSD.
